Aqualyx aftercare is important to reduce swelling, avoid complications, and help the fat-dissolving process work properly. Here’s the typical guidance clinics give after treatment.
First 24–48 hours
Use cold compresses for 15–20 minutes at a time to reduce swelling and discomfort.
Do not touch or massage the area for at least 6–12 hours.
Avoid makeup or skincare on the area for 12–24 hours.
Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen) for about 48 hours.
Stay hydrated to help your body process the broken-down fat.
First week
Expect swelling, tenderness, and bruising.
Swelling often peaks in the first 48–72 hours and can last 3–7 days or sometimes up to 2 weeks depending on the area.
Avoid intense exercise for about 5–7 days.
Avoid heat exposure (saunas, hot baths, sunbeds, steam rooms).
Compression garments may be recommended for body areas to reduce swelling.
After the first week
Some clinics recommend gentle massage for 1–3 weeks to help distribute the product and lymphatic drainage.
Maintain a healthy, low-fat diet and good hydration while the body metabolises the dissolved fat.
Final results usually start showing after 4–8 weeks, and treatments are often spaced a few weeks apart.
